London is without doubt the best connected place in the country.  There are frequent scheduled travel services from most parts of the country and with the rise of low-cost airlines, getting to London by air is even more affordable.

Train
London is the hub of the British Rail network with connections to all corners of the UK as well as high speed connections to the Greater London airports.

Coach
National Express operates throughout the UK with regular express services departing from London to large towns and cities as well as other services connecting smaller towns and villages.

Air
London is served by five airports, from the gateway airport at Heathrow in the west, Gatwick in the south, Luton in the north and Stanstead in the East and the smaller City airport near Docklands.  All London airports have good travel connections.
