Heathrow is the world's busiest international airport handling over 67 million passengers per year. The airport is regarded as the hub of the aviation world, over 90 airlines have made Heathrow their base.

The airport is located 20 miles (32km) to the west of central London and there are excellent transport links into the city and beyond.

Rail

Heathrow Express
Heathrow Express is the fastest way to travel between London Paddington and Heathrow Airport, with a journey time of just 15 minutes (8 minutes more to/ from Terminal 4). Trains depart every 15 minutes and run non-stop between central London and the airport.  

Heathrow Express operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year.  Carriages are clean, spacious and air-conditioned with friendly staff on-hand and easy access for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Express TV gives the latest BBC news updates and mobiles can be used throughout the journey or choose our ‘Quiet Zones’ for a telephone and TV free environment. Trains offer both First and Express Class carriages.  Heathrow Express is the perfect stress-free way to start or finish your journey.

The Tube

Heathrow airport is served by the Piccadilly line providing a quick, cost-effective route to the airport from the capital.  Journey time is under an hour and you shouldn't have to wait longer than ten minutes for a train - even off-peak. 

Purchase a Travelcard and you're covered for buses and some trains too. Underground walkways link the Heathrow tube station with the terminals.  Tickets are available at London Underground stations; from ticket offices or machines.

By Coach

National Express coach A2 has 33 services between Heathrow and London every day, as often as 30 minutes. Stops in central London include Hyde Park, Marble Arch, Baker Street, Russell Square and Kings Cross. Most services call at Heathrow Central Bus Station a short walking from Terminals 1, 2 and 3,ticket desk in at Terminal 4.

By Bus

Night Bus N9 operates from Heathrow to Aldwych via Trafalgar Square and High Street Kensington.  Buses run every 30 mins with an average 65 minute journey time.

By Taxi

A taxi from Heathrow to central London will cost around £50 with an average journey time of one hour. Journeys inside London and within 20 miles of the airport are priced using the taxi meter. Journeys to locations in the boroughs of Spelthorne, Egham, Colnebrook and Poyle are charged at a maximum of £25. The fare for all other journeys outside of London should be agreed between the driver and the passenger prior to the journey commencing. 

By Car

London Heathrow is 15 miles west of London, on the M4 motorway, near the M25 interchange. All Terminals and appropriate motorway exits are signposted. 

Terminals 1, 2 & 3 are located in the centre of Heathrow and can be reached via the following motorways:

M25 - junction 15

Terminal 4 is on the south side of Heathrow and can be reached via the following motorways:
