The
Phantom
of the Opera is the jewel in the crown of the Really
Useful Group. Set
within the majestic Paris Opera House, this haunting
musical follows the tragic love story of a beautiful
opera singer and a disfigured young composer living
below stage.
In London there has never been a seat unsold. The
musical has achieved in excess of 99% potential capacity
wherever it has been presented. It is estimated that
over 52 million people have seen the show and the box
office gross world-wide stands at nearly £900 million.
Awards include the Laurence Olivier and Evening Standard
Award for Best Musical and 7 Tony Awards.
Opened in London on 9 October 1986, there have been more
than twenty productions world-wide since then.
