A
drug-fuelled Bank Holiday weekend in a house in Manchester.
Five men’s lust, lies and loyalties spiral out of control
with devastating consequences.
Seduced by the promise of sex and hedonistic kicks, they
embark on a journey where self-discovery comes too late…
‘How many of you… have joined a crowd and partied the
night away in a strange house where you don’t know
anyone?’ Michael Barrymore, Alwight Now
Twisted was originally inspired by the media coverage
surrounding the death of Stuart Lubbock in Michael
Barrymore’s swimming pool.
Twisted is a fast-paced drama about sexuality and troubled
masculinity – sometimes shocking, but always compelling
and full of razor-sharp humourme life.

Twisted
was originally inspired by the media coverage surrounding the death of
Stuart Lubbock, and the bizarre fascination with Michael Barrymore’s
fall from primetime family entertainer to tabloid demon. It is the
launch production for Iron Hoof, a new company set up to
develop queer writing. Its
mission is to champion and develop writers whose work falls outside
the relatively ‘bankable’ world of the ‘gay play’.
