Heartthrob
Shayne Ward has triumphed to win the X Factor final, beating
binman Andy Abrahams and brothers Journey
South.
Shayne, the bookie's favourite, sang Over the Rainbow, the
Christmas classic When a Child is Born and Daniel
Bedingfield's hit If You're Not the One to win over the
viewers.
When Shayne's
name was read out by Kate as the winner of X Factor 2005, he
could not contain his happiness and excitement as tears came
to his eyes. The 21 year old hugged fellow contestant Andy and said
"Thank you so much!

He dedicated his victory to his mum Philomena, saying:
"This is for you mum, this is for you."
He told judge Louis Walsh: "I owe you everything."
His first engagement was to play to a sell out crowd at
G-A-Y, one of the largest gay night clubs in London.
Shayne is being
hailed as Britain's answer to Justin Timberlake. His
good looks ensured judge Sharon Osbourne flirted
outrageously with him continuously during the show.
But the former shop assistant from Manchester has vowed to
stay faithful to girlfriend Faye McKeever.
He said: "We sat down and had a conversation about what
would happen if I did get girls coming up to me. The
producers had warned me that there would be temptation. And
I told her she'd have to understand. But I can fight
temptation."
Winning the contest has given Shayne a lucrative £1million recording contract.
He is
hoping that his new record That's My Goal will hit the Christmas number one
spot when it is released later this week. He
added: "Whatever happens, whoever gets the Christmas
number one, good luck to them ... but I hope it's me."
The single is released on Wednesday - giving it just
four days of sales to become Christmas number one.
Retailers have already pre-ordered 750,000 copies and
predict it will top the chart.
Shayne said: "I am really excited about the single and
I am just so glad that is is my song now."
He now hopes to
emulate the career of his idol Robbie Williams.
"Robbie is all about entertaining people and that's
what I want to do," he said.
An incredible 10.8 million people voted during the emotional
show. There was only 1 percent between the final
two Andy and Shayne most way through the show. But
ultimately it was bookies favourite Shayne who stole the
great British public's hearts and votes.
