  Sexually Transmitted Infections

These days we all know that unprotected sex can be deadly. Anyone who has sex, whether male, female, straight, gay or lesbian, can be infected with an STI (sexually transmitted infection).

Many STIs continue to impair the healthy enjoyment of sex for many gay men, and it is now clear that having an STI can increase the risk of HIV transmission.

STIs can be a pain in the bum, or a temporary nuisance, and occasionally, a serious health risk.  Here we list some of the most common STI's affecting gay men along with information about sexual health clinics.

Common Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)

Sexual health is not just about using condoms or avoiding infections. Sexual health means enjoying the sexual activity you want without causing yourself or anyone else suffering, physical or mental harm.

Remember - the best cure for an STI is not to get it in the first place - using condoms greatly reduces the chances of getting an STI.
